    12SWEDEN-articleLargeTo experience a Swedish Midsummer festival is to take a step back into time. You might think the New York Times photos (above) are from some countryside event in a small town (and they are). However, they do truly capture typical Midsummer Festivals around Sweden.

    Midsummer is celebrated on the Friday following the Summer Solstice–June 21. As luck would have it, this year it’s on the actual day itself.

    If you’re in the NYC area, try to attend the Midsummer celebration in Battery Park.

Pyret.[/caption]The PO.P Stripe was designed by sisters Katarina af Klintberg and Gunila Axén back in the mid-70s as part of our first collection. Gunila Axén is a world-renowned textile designer, outside of the PO.P stripes, she’s probably best known for her Cloud design. The PO.P stripes are meant to be friendly and playful—not necessary for boy or girl. This was new in the 70s and, to some, still is today. We design clothing that withstand wear-and-tear and become part of your family; from brother to sister, cousin to cousin or even father to son.

No need to wash separately, just toss in with everything else–stripes stay stripey, whites stay white and all the colors stay bright.


  4. Snack: Granola RoundUp

    granolabitsWe are forever prepared with snacks when we head out for a trek, a bike ride, or other outdoor adventure. In order to be mother and kid approved our treats must not only be healthy but also super tasty and easily portable. Our usual is some version of gorp–nuts, dried fruits, a chocolate chip or two. We all love this, but it has gotten a bit boring. For some new inspiration I looked to a beloved vintage kids cookbook and revamped a recipe for “Granola RoundUps.”
