    2) ABC prints are everywhere, but this outdoor print comes complete with ‘A’ for arrows and ‘K’ for knot tying and ‘Y’ for yurt. We hope this helps instill a love of the great outdoors for your child.

  3. Why Merino Wool?

Merino wool is not your grandmother’s bulky sweater that has that, well, wool smell and constant itchiness. Merino wool can be considered nature’s perfect insulator that keeps kids warm when the weather gets chilly and cool when it warms up. It’s worked for sheep for centuries! As an added bonus, Merino keeps it shape when your kids play in the open fields or the soccer fields and again after you wash it.

    1) This IKEA SMYCKE wall clock caught our attention because it resembles one of our prints from a few years ago. smycke-wall-clock__0175142_PE334723_S4Do you remember that one?

    2) We all have back to school on the brain, and this adorable printable from Kiwi Crate will have you and your kids organized all week long.

As the summer begins to wind down and Back-School-Sales launch, we know parents begin to either dread or look forward to the fall-clothing clean out. Looking at the overflowing drawers of camp shirts, jeans and sweatshirts your kids are trying to wear even though it’s still 90 degrees outside, sooner or later, you’ll need to do an assessment of what they have, what they need and what needs to go.

This process doesn’t need to be frustrating and can often be fun and one that involves kids. Depending on the age of your children, involve them in the process or at least some of it.

The new fall prints are in, and we’re excited to offer our customers another chance to Name Our Prints. This past spring our staff had a great time reading through all your (and your kids’) creative print names. We are excited for another round of entries and hope to make this a tradition each season.

  8. Denim: Back to School Staple

DSC_0104Each year as parents hit the shops for back to school clothing, we buy everything from socks to the latest fad. (We are parents here at Polarn O. Pyret, too, so we understand.)

Our very unofficial market research tells us there are three items that you will most likely purchase for the new school year. Let us know if we got it right!

    1) Shoes! Obviously. Your kids have grown, and if they haven’t outgrown their shoes, we bet they are dirty and probably a little smelly.

    2) That first new long-sleeve top. Back to School also means the anticipation of cooler temps. We bet you’ll purchase at least one new long-sleeve item, even if it’s just a hoodie, as part of the excitement of Halloween decorations migrating to the shelves.

    3) Denim. Unless your kids are in school uniforms, we know jeans are a must have. Somewhere, somehow the ones from last year are too small. Perhaps there are even a few holes in the knees, which is only a sign of a healthy kid, as far as we’re concerned.

    1) Summer is not over yet so if your kids are still begging for icy treats, these Oreo Pudding Pops certainly caught our eye and sound delish.

    2) Martha Stewart is always full of great ideas and this one is no different. This DIY clutch is a great way to repurpose fabrics and prints that you love.

    3) The IKEA hacks do it again by jazzing up a Malm dresser with cut out clothing shapes. It looks adorable and can help your little ones put away and pick out their own clothes. Bonus for everyone!
