    Keep it under the hat Did you know that increased amounts of body heat escape through our heads when we forget to wear a hat? The secret is finding the right one! Children who move around a lot, tend to keep warm don’t need as much on their heads as children who sit still when they play. Watch how your child plays and feel the back of her neck to determine if it’s warm or cold – that will give you an idea of their body temperature. A thinner cap is best, or a balaclava that also covers part of the face, topped with a windproof cap.
