    Jean details

In the beginning, the people who used jeans were miners and cowboys – today they are more or less in everybody’s wardrobe, especially small tree climbers and adventurers! Polarn O. Pyret has five fits for all possible and impossible types of activities. Select the fit based on the type of activity – Skinny fit with lots of stretch is good for tree climbing to prevent getting caught in the branches. Loose fit might be a good alternative for a disco party. Then there is naturally the matter of taste and preference! Most important is that children get to be children – in the right jeans for all activities. SKINNY- Our most slender pants with lots of stretch. SLIM- Very slender in the leg with lots …

Jeans made of durable cotton garments are in most families, perfect for slow, climbing and playing. But the clothes also contain chemicals that are far from child-friendly shows Testfakta, a Swedish garment testing company. Nine out of ten children jeans contain chemicals, shows the Testfakta test, but not Polarn O. Pyret jeans. In particular, the environment takes a beating when toxic substances flow into the wash water. In an analysis of ten pair of jeans for children from different European brands, it appears that three pairs containing the hazardous substance nonylphenol (NPE), which is very toxic to aquatic organisms, and has also been shown to disrupt the natural balance of hormones. NPE is already prohibited in Europe, and the Swedish Chemicals Agency is currently lobbying …

We think the bottom layer should be the most fun! Panties, pants, boxers, briefs, unders, bloomers, knickers or unmentionables. Whatever you want to call them, we have them and we promise they are the cutest in town. You will not find princesses, video game characters or superheroes on ours though. So if you need those, you’ll have to go elsewhere.

As the summer begins to wind down and Back-School-Sales launch, we know parents begin to either dread or look forward to the fall-clothing clean out. Looking at the overflowing drawers of camp shirts, jeans and sweatshirts your kids are trying to wear even though it’s still 90 degrees outside, sooner or later, you’ll need to do an assessment of what they have, what they need and what needs to go.

This process doesn’t need to be frustrating and can often be fun and one that involves kids. Depending on the age of your children, involve them in the process or at least some of it.

  10. Denim: Back to School Staple

    0

    August 12, 2013 by PO.P Press

DSC_0104Each year as parents hit the shops for back to school clothing, we buy everything from socks to the latest fad. (We are parents here at Polarn O. Pyret, too, so we understand.)

Our very unofficial market research tells us there are three items that you will most likely purchase for the new school year. Let us know if we got it right!

    1) Shoes! Obviously. Your kids have grown, and if they haven’t outgrown their shoes, we bet they are dirty and probably a little smelly.

    2) That first new long-sleeve top. Back to School also means the anticipation of cooler temps. We bet you’ll purchase at least one new long-sleeve item, even if it’s just a hoodie, as part of the excitement of Halloween decorations migrating to the shelves.

    3) Denim. Unless your kids are in school uniforms, we know jeans are a must have. Somewhere, somehow the ones from last year are too small. Perhaps there are even a few holes in the knees, which is only a sign of a healthy kid, as far as we’re concerned.
