Is there anything more wonderful than the first rays of sunlight in the spring? The sun is always a welcome sight after a dark and cold winter. Remember to take care since children’s skin is especially sensitive to the sun, particularly in the beginning of the season when their skin is pale. The best way to protect all of our little sunshine’s is to make sure they are not in the sun too long and to try to keep them in the shade as much as possible. There is also clothing available that can help. IDEAS FOR SMART SUN PROTECTION Babies should not be exposed to sunlight or excessively high temperatures. We love camp! We love camp for all the same reasons you loved camp as a kid—adventure in the great outdoors, new friends who you wrote letters to all year long and life-long memories that you still cherish. Summer camp, whether it’s sleep-away camp or day camp, provides children with a chance to explore the world in a controlled and nurturing setting. Kids can develop independence and experience things that they may not be able to at home. We talked to our staff and reflected on our own camp experiences. Together we came up with our Top 5 Reasons Summer Camp Rocks! 1. Kids develop a …

She began her company Clogmaster fitting the perfect shoe work shoe for nurses, doctors and chefs. Little did she know that clogs would be become popular for anyone wanting comfort. 1) Summer is not over yet so if your kids are still begging for icy treats, these Oreo Pudding Pops certainly caught our eye and sound delish.

    2) Martha Stewart is always full of great ideas and this one is no different. This DIY clutch is a great way to repurpose fabrics and prints that you love.

    3) The IKEA hacks do it again by jazzing up a Malm dresser with cut out clothing shapes. It looks adorable and can help your little ones put away and pick out their own clothes. Bonus for everyone!

12SWEDEN-articleLargeTo experience a Swedish Midsummer festival is to take a step back into time. You might think the New York Times photos (above) are from some countryside event in a small town (and they are). However, they do truly capture typical Midsummer Festivals around Sweden.

Midsummer is celebrated on the Friday following the Summer Solstice–June 21. As luck would have it, this year it’s on the actual day itself.

If you’re in the NYC area, try to attend the Midsummer celebration in Battery Park.
