Our soft shell jacket is windproof but still has good breathability. It’s also water resistant, with a water column measurement of >3000 mm, and has a soft fleece lining. This is what makes it brilliant as both a cozy middle layer and a jacket for milder days. You could say it’s a 2-in-1 jacket that can be used all year round.

Keep it under the hat Did you know that increased amounts of body heat escape through our heads when we forget to wear a hat? The secret is finding the right one! Children who move around a lot, tend to keep warm don’t need as much on their heads as children who sit still when they play. Watch how your child plays and feel the back of her neck to determine if it’s warm or cold – that will give you an idea of their body temperature. A thinner cap is best, or a balaclava that also covers part of the face, topped with a windproof cap. Then you can take the windproof cap off to ventilate without exposing the head directly to the cold. …
