  2. Our Interview with Secret Forest Playschool

    April 15, 2016 by PO.P Press

The Secret Forest Playschool is part of The Duluth Nature Play Collaborative. Together we aim to educate, inspire, connect, and advocate for nature play for young children in Duluth, MN. Background: In 2010 when Meghan’s son was born she realized there was a need for a nature-play program in Duluth area. As an advocate for play and nature she made it her mission to courageously and creatively offer a rich experience for children to learn and grow. After researching what programs in other parts of the world were doing to meet the need of their youngest generation and with the support of her family and friends she opened Duluth’s first nature-play program, Secret Forest Playschool in the fall of 2012. Since opening Playschool, Meghan has been able …

  3. Make Every Day a Play Day

October 22, 2013 by Linda Kerr

You are invited to play! We are gearing up for the fall weather at Polarn O. Pyret, and we’d like to invite you to play in our 5th Every Day a Play Day week! Twice a year, we challenge parents to get their kids outside to play for an entire week. Every day. That can include walking to school, meeting friends at a playground or taking a walk through a nearby park. The goal is to get families out enjoying the outdoors no matter what the weather. We are keeping it simple this year. We have two ways for you to participate. 1) Go outside and play! Then post your photos to Instagram, but don’t forget to tag them #popoutside. We’ll be playing with you …

  4. Waterproof, Ready for Play

October 16, 2013 by Linda Kerr

If you want to make the world’s best childrenswear, you have to set the bar high. Which is why we have tested every single detail in our products and how they perform using real life test pilots!

We believe that children should be able to play outdoors in any weather, and we design children’s coats, jackets, snowsuits, waterproof pants, hats and gloves accordingly.

Children from three preschools tested this season’s outerwear and told us exactly what worked and what didn’t. And they were ruthless. We only sell those products they approved, nothing else.

  5. Signs of Spring

    April 22, 2013 by PO.P Press

We like to get outside as much as possible–rain, cold, or winds usually can not deter us. This week as major thunderstorms have taken up the bulk of the day here in the Midwest, its been a challenge. We’ve tried to sneak bits of outside play here and there. A reprieve from the lightning after school gave us a chance to get out. We did not have to stray far. With a camera in tow we went on a little scavenger hunt around the neighborhood to find signs of new life.

  6. We Played Every Day!

    April 15, 2013 by PO.P Press

We had a great time playing last week with friends from all over the country. We beat our goal and logged 1,016 hours of outdoor play. We hope you take some time to click through some of the great posts written by bloggers (see all captions on photos in this post) who played along with us. We loved the participation on Facebook and Instagram as well.

  10. Montana Play Day

    April 10, 2013 by PO.P Press

We fit outdoor playtime into our schedule most days. But field trip days are special. We go a little further afoot. Weather in Montana can be challenging—think 50 F and sunny one day and blowing snow and freezing temps the next day. As long as we are prepared with the right gear, there are very few things Mother Nature can throw at us that we can’t handle.
