We spoke to Anna-Karin Malmsten, our print designer at PO.P, who explained how the Prints Collection was created. “The work of gathering inspiration for the collection began in mid-February 2016. But it was only after our inspirational trip to London in early March that the work of designing the actual prints took off,” explains Anna-Karin.     The Wellington boot is a type of boot that was worn and popularized by Arthur Wellesley, 1st Duke of Wellington. This novel “Wellington” boot became a staple of hunting and outdoor wear for the British aristocracy in the early 19th century. Wellington boots were at first made of leather. However in 1852, Charles Goodyear, introduced the wholly waterproof, Wellington-type rubber boot which became an instant success. The lower cost and ease of rubber “Wellington” boot being entirely waterproof, lent itself immediately to being the preferred protective material to leather in all forms of industry.     As always, we had so much fun with our “Name Our Prints” contest this spring. We had some imaginative names for this season’s contest and we enjoyed reading through them all. It was hard to pick the best ones. Our winners for the four fall prints starting with Print A: was Lanita with ‘Baah-tastic’, She is 2 years old, and named this print with her parents.
